We hope everyone has been enjoying their holiday seasons! We are getting ready to open up registration for our Spring 2018 season next week, so keep your eyes peeled for that! In the meantime, we’re officially wrapping up our Fall 2017 season by offering a (belated) congratulations to Pinball Outreach Project for their victory in the league championship match and to Slingshot Through The Heart for winning their first ever B Division title! In addition to that, we have our official announcements for our Fall 2017 League MVP and Best New Player Awards!
Our Fall 2017 League MVP is Colin Urban of Pinball Outreach Project! In seven appearances during the regular season, Colin notched 20 victories on 25 attempts (.800), going 10/13 (.769) in doubles and 10/12 in singles (.833). Colin also won 16 out of 18 attempts at home for a .889 win percentage, his 16 wins also being a league high for the season. Colin was named Player Of The Week two weeks in a row this season (Weeks 4 and 5), the first player in league history to pull that feat. He is the first person from the Pinball Outreach Project team to win a League MVP award.
Our Fall 2017 Best New Player is Jonathan Illig, also of Pinball Outreach Project! In ten appearances this season Jonathan went 25 for 33 (.758), and his 25 wins sets a new league record for most wins by one player during the regular season. Jonathan went 14/18 (.778) in doubles and 11/15 (.733) in singles, and had two win streaks of 13 and 8 games this season. His 13 wins at home were second only to Colin, and he led the league with 12 wins on the road. Jonathan was also named Player Of The Week in Week 9, one of four Player Of The Week awards given to players from POP this season. Jonathan is the first player from the Pinball Outreach Project team to win Best New Player.
Congratulations to Colin and Jonathan! Enjoy the rest of the offseason, we will be back in February!
