We have posted a few changes to the rules for this season. The new version of the rules is available on the website and will be included in your team’s scoresheet packet. Here’s an overview of the changes made for this season:
– The cap on players in the WPPR top 500 has been lifted, rosters may now contain any number of players that are on the league’s restricted list. However, teams are still only allowed to play three players on the league’s restriction list in a given match.
– All players that were in the top 15% of the league’s MVP rankings will be on the league’s list of restricted players for the entire season, regardless of their WPPR ranking.
– The playoffs will now feature six teams instead of four. The top two teams in the league will receive byes in the first week of the playoffs.
– The championship match is now two weeks long. The championship round will have eight rounds of play, and each half of the match will function as a regular league match.
– For the championship round, each team will get to choose a venue for one of the two weeks of the match. The higher seeded team will have the choice to choose or defer to the other team for the first week, and the team that does not choose the first week will choose the second. The team choosing may choose any venue that fielded a team during the season with the exception of their own home bar. All machines at each location will be available for play.
Also we’re very happy to report that we’ve hit our cap of 100 players for the season! If you’re interested in getting on the waiting list in case any spots open up during the season, send us an e-mail using the contact form on the website or send us a message on Facebook!
See you all on Sunday!
